On the fiftieth day of Easter we celebrate the Spirit, through whom and in whom the people of God are created and re-created. Pentecost is sometimes called the church's birthday, but might more appropriately be called its baptism day, since the gift of the Spirit is the fullness of baptism. Ezekiel's vision shows the Spirit resurrecting and re-creating not just individuals but a whole people. Romans makes it clear that God is in the process of re-creating the entire cosmos; yet the Spirit is also at work in the most intimate and personal way, praying in us "with sighs too deep for words" when we do not know how to pray.

Social Ministry
Jeff Bald

As Christians we are called to serve others, and it is an important role of the church to support those in need and to share God’s love with all.

The Social Ministry Committee provides a variety of opportunities to allow all of us to be active in supporting others and share God’s love and word.

From the HEART group with their new and exciting ideas. Goals are laid out, plans are formed then  carried out with incredible speed and purpose.

Cooking one Monday evening each month for the Freeport INN soup kitchen has been a ministry at St Peter's for many years. We make trays of our delicious meals which are then distributed to those in need in our surrounding towns .

Whether it was cooking , bringing food  to feed those in need, or even our clothing drive for Super Storm Sandy victims, we at St Peter's have been there helping.

A Living Nativity, which shares the wonder of our Lord and Savior's birth to the residents of Baldwin.

The Prayer Quilt Ministry has brought comfort to many sick, hurting people. To be wrapped  in a quilt filled with prayers has brought many to a closer relationship with our Lord.

We're also involved with many of our church's activities, from our picnics, Lenten soup dinners, Veteran's Day coffee hour as well as weekly coffee hours, Shrove Tuesday celebration, and even our Summer Fiesta.

We're always looking for help: Many hands make light the work.
If you would like to know more, join us for a meeting Tuesday nights  at 7:30 in Sebastian Parlor.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
Matthew 25:35-36
