Re-open Guidelines

Safety Checklist for Reopening the Sanctuary for Worship

The Church Council continues to monitor CDC Guidelines, which support out Task force’s efforts for church re-opening. Our trial run Church service Sunday, June 28, 2020, was successful and enabled us to assess this initiative. We learned a few things and are adjusting accordingly. Podcast coverage will continue as we move forward.

We are resuming the limited service Sunday July 12, 2020 at 8AM.

OCCUPANCY – We continue with requirement for 6’ social distance. This parameter will establish the total permissible occupancy.

BUILDING- our intention is to minimize touching of surfaces, and many doors will be propped open. Please utilize the sanitary dispensers to keep your hands clean. There is one mounted in the Narthex, additional dispensers will be added. All restrooms are equipped with hands free fixtures. A clear partition will be utilized during Holy Communion, to minimum interaction while receiving holy Eucharist.

OPERATION-

  • During service windows are to remain open
  • The wearing of Cloth Masks is mandatory for all occupants at all times while inside the building.
  • Singing and greetings that require contact are not allowed at this time, nor is personal contact permitted.
  • All bibles and hymnals have been removed, so be sure to utilize the printed Bulletin. Please discard this when exiting the building. Trash receptacles will be positioned near the exit.

USHER RESPONSIBILITIES (two are required)-

  • Upon arrival, please wait for Usher to direct worshipers to specified assigned seats.
  • At the beginning of service, Usher will take photograph of congregants, which will serve to chronicle attendance.
  • During Holy Communion, please follow Ushers directions and line-up at the “X” demarcations.
  • When service is concluded, Ushers will indicate when worshipers may exit their pews.

ATTENDANCE MONITORING- A record will be maintained to monitor all who are in attendance at each service including pastor, ushers, musician. This will be accomplished via a photograph during the service.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES- While we are all acting diligently with doing our best to deal with the pandemic, patience, common sense, and cooperation, will enable us to manage this situation effectively.

  • Any person sick, or having any sign of illness should refrain from attendance
  • Any person vulnerable, or at-risk should refrain from attendance
