SAT
Resurrection of our Lord: Vigil of Easter
7:45 PM
Every Sunday in worship the church celebrates the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit gathers us to receive again the gifts of God that come to us through Christ, the saving Word. On several key days at the center of the church year, however, worship takes a particular shape. These central days have come to be known as the Three Days, recalling Jesus' own words to his disciples that he would be handed over to death, and that "after three days he will rise again" (Mark 10:34). The Three Days encompass the time from Maundy Thursday evening through the evening of Easter Day. In particular, the services of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Vigil of Easter unfold in a single movement, as the church each year makes the passage with Christ through death into life.

Resurrection of our Lord: Easter Sunday
8:00 AM
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." God has indeed raised from the dead the one who was put to death "by hanging him on a tree." Alleluia! Social Ministry

As Christians we are called to serve others, and it is an important role of the church to support those in need and to share God’s love with all.

Social Ministry provides a variety of opportunities to allow all of us to be active in supporting others and share God’s love and word.  We're always looking for help: Many hands make light the work.

Moms Make the World Beautiful - Partnering with St Peter's Youth and The New Life Center of Lutheran Social Services, we are assembling bags of beauty products to give to mothers in need.

Freeport INN Soup Kitchen Meal Prep - One Monday a month (late afternoon/early evening), help prepare trays of meals in St Peter's  kitchen. The food is delivered to Freeport the next day where it is enjoyed by those in need.

A Living Nativity - Participate as a cast member, stage crew, set builder, etc. in this yearly production that shares with the community the wonder of our Lord and Savior's birth.

Prayer Quilt Ministry - Bring comfort to sick, hurting people. To be wrapped  in a quilt filled with prayers has brought many to a closer relationship with our Lord.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
