This past Sunday - A welcome and blessing for our wonderful teachers. Each week, our Sunday School children learn, pray, then snack & play as parents & grandparents look on while socializing at coffee hour after the 10:15 service.THIS WEEK IN SUNDAY SCHOOL: We learned how God provided for Elijah by having the Ravens feed him and then continued to provide for the widow after she provided for Elijah. We made a raven and an Elijah stick puppet to hold up when we heard about each in the story.  We also made a little tiny raven book.Today we learned about the temple of Solomon and built our own with our snack craft! The parable of the SowerLearning to be good Samaritans.Playing good SamaritansLearning how to be kind to others and help those in need.Today's lesson was The Parable of the Prodigal Son. We sayPlanting the seeds of faithFriends help friends: Jesus heals the paralyzed man. Our Care Bears made mats for the paralyzed man to be lowered into the house so Jesus could forgive his sins and heal him.Today's Bible lesson was the story of Jesus and the Leper. We learned that Jesus heals. In addition to learning about the Bible, students are taught the value of money, industriousness and goal achievement through Miss Freese’ innovative “token economy” positive reinforcement technique.Children are motivated by Ms. Freese' use of a “token economy.” Attendance, correct answers, reading and other accomplishments are rewarded.Earnings can be turned in for candy and small items. For holidays, she offers then the chance to purchase specialized items. One student who has amassed $500 to date has decided to bequeath his money to his younger brother! BTW - He inherited some of this money from a Miss Freese alum – lol!As part of her “token economy” during Lent, Miss Freese offers students eggs stuffed with varying denominations of coins.Congratulations to our Sunday School kids on their Moving Up Day!A BIG THANK YOU to Deacon Angela for running the program. We thank God for our dedicated teachers: Bible Explorers - Ms. Melanie (who also serves as Program Co-ordinator) & Ms. Lisa. Gospel Superstars - Ms. Brenda Jesus Cares Bears - Ms. Laura, Ms. Suzanne & Ms. Bettina
